The hope project initiated and implemented by the China youth foundation in October 1989 is the most widely participated and influential non-governmental public welfare cause in China. By the end of 2017, the hope project had received a total of 14.04 billion yuan in donations, supported 5.748 million needy students, built 19,814 hope primary schools, 5,861 hope kitchens, built 29,170 libraries and trained 106,558 teachers. It also funded the construction of music classroom, physical education classroom and art classroom of the hope project, and carried out various activities such as long-distance volunteer teaching, science, sports and summer camp, actively carried out poverty alleviation through education, and promoted the comprehensive development of basic education in poverty-stricken areas.
    Mr. Deng xiaoqing, in response to the national call, made irregular donations to the China youth foundation to support those outstanding students who are about to drop out of school to continue their studies, so as to cultivate the backbone of the next generation of society and make contributions to the national development.
